CHINESE PREMIER LI QIANG ARRIVES IN PAKISTAN ON OFFICIAL VISIT

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has commenced a four-day visit to Pakistan, arriving on Monday to strengthen bilateral relations and advance economic cooperation, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The visit, running from October 14-17, brings a high-level Chinese delegation to Islamabad, including senior officials from key ministries such as Foreign Affairs, Commerce, and the China International Development Cooperation Agency.
Upon his arrival, Premier Li was welcomed at the airport by Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. During the visit, both leaders will engage in talks aimed at deepening economic and trade ties, while also discussing regional and international matters.
The delegation-level discussions will focus on fortifying the longstanding "All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership" between the two countries, with special emphasis on promoting high-quality development projects under CPEC.
In addition to bilateral meetings, Premier Li will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Islamabad, slated for October 15-16.
The visit will also include interactions with President Asif Ali Zardari, parliamentary leaders, and senior military officials. According to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Office, this visit reflects the significance of the Pakistan-China relationship. It is an opportunity for both sides to reaffirm their mutual commitment to shared interests, advance CPEC initiatives, and enhance coordination on critical regional and global developments.
