PESHAWAR: A vibrant celebration of cross-cultural creativity took place at University of Peshawar, where students and faculty gathered for a Chinese-themed art exhibition highlighting the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China.

Hosted at the university’s New Academic Block, the event was arranged through a collaboration between the China Study Centre (CSC) and the Department of Arts and Design. The exhibition drew an enthusiastic crowd, with attendees praising the artistic flair and originality displayed by participating students.

The showcase featured a wide range of artwork, from intricate calligraphy to expressive paintings and finely crafted ceramics, all inspired by traditional Chinese aesthetics. Many pieces stood out for creatively merging Chinese artistic traditions with Pakistani cultural elements, reflecting a shared sense of heritage and unity.

The event also commemorated 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, emphasizing cultural exchange as a key pillar of bilateral ties. Organizers noted that such initiatives help deepen mutual understanding and strengthen people-to-people connections.

Dr. Noor Sanauddin, Director China Study Centre, underscored the importance of encouraging students to explore international artistic influences. He also acknowledged the support of the Chinese Embassy, expressing hope for continued collaboration in future events. He linked these cultural efforts to broader cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which continues to shape ties between the two nations.

The exhibition concluded with a prize distribution ceremony presided over by Prof. Muhammad Naeem Qazi, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university, who commended participants for their creativity and dedication.
