GWADAR: A total of 41 students at the University of Gwadar (UG) received their award letters for the Chinese Ambassador Special Scholarship for Balochistan (Phase III) during a ceremony held Thursday at the university’s Seminar Hall, Block I.

According to an official statement, the scholarship, offered by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, covers full tuition fees for four years, enabling selected students to pursue higher education without financial burden.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chancellor of UG Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir congratulated the awardees and said the scholarship program plays a vital role in expanding educational access and supporting academic excellence among the youth of Balochistan. “Such initiatives help prepare young people to contribute meaningfully to the province’s development,” he said.

Dr. Sabir expressed gratitude to the Chinese Ambassador and the Government of China for their continued support, acknowledging their commitment to empowering Balochistan’s youth through educational opportunities. He also praised the Chinese Embassy for strengthening academic cooperation and fostering friendship between China and Pakistan.

The scholarship has been awarded equally to male and female students, reflecting a commitment to promoting gender inclusion in the coastal region of Balochistan, where access to educational opportunities for girls often requires additional support and encouragement.

The Vice Chancellor further commended Director of Financial Aid Ubaid Ali and his team for efficiently managing the scholarship process and ensuring smooth facilitation for the selected students.
