Gwadar International Airport Inaugurated

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang virtually inaugurated the New Gwadar International Airport on Monday, marking a major development in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
During the ceremony in Islamabad, Sharif described the airport as a “gift from China” that underscores its commitment to Pakistan’s economic growth, particularly in underdeveloped regions. He expressed hope that the new airport would transform the economy of Gwadar and the country.
Sharif also acknowledged the contributions of Chinese and Pakistani workers in building the airport and noted that several agreements and memorandums of understanding, including those on agriculture, industry, and commerce, were signed during the event.
Li Qiang highlighted the airport as a step toward making Gwadar a regional connectivity hub and praised the joint efforts over the five-year construction period.
