President Asif Ali Zardari Meets Chinese Premier Li Qiang: Reaffirms Strong Pakistan-China Partnership

BEIJING: President Asif Ali Zardari met Premier of the State Council of China, Li Qiang, at the iconic Great Hall of the People today, reinforcing the enduring Pakistan-China friendship. 

During the meeting, President Zardari lauded the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” between the two countries—a bond nurtured by generations of visionary leaders from both sides. He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to further strengthening this time-tested relationship, highlighting the vital role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in fostering regional connectivity and economic development. 

President Zardari expressed profound appreciation for China’s consistent support for Pakistan’s development agenda. Both leaders agreed to accelerate high-quality development under CPEC Phase 2.0, focusing on renewable energy, science and technology, infrastructure, and agriculture to achieve shared prosperity. 

The two sides also explored opportunities to boost trade and economic ties through stronger business-to-business (B2B) and private sector collaborations, underscoring the potential for enhanced economic integration. 

In addition to economic cooperation, President Zardari and Premier Li emphasized the importance of expanding people-to-people and cultural exchanges. They pledged to deepen mutual understanding and build an even stronger China-Pakistan Community of Shared Future in the New Era. 

The meeting concluded with both leaders reaffirming their shared vision for a prosperous future, driven by cooperation, trust, and the historic friendship between Pakistan and China.
