Pakistani Prime Minister, UAE President Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates: Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at Qasr Al Shati on Tuesday to discuss deepening ties between the two countries.

During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the need to further strengthen cooperation in economic, trade, and development sectors. They agreed to enhance collaboration in line with their shared vision for sustainable economic growth and prosperity, declaring 2025 a "year of action" for both nations.

The talks also highlighted the significance of the World Government Summit in identifying global trends in governance and presenting actionable strategies to help governments navigate transformations. The leaders stressed the importance of leveraging global shifts to accelerate development and build a more resilient future.

In addition, the two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, focusing on recent developments in the Middle East. They called for intensified efforts to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace in Palestine, reiterating support for a two-state solution as essential for regional stability.

Prime Minister Sharif arrived in Abu Dhabi as part of his two-day visit to the UAE, where he is attending the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai. The summit, held under the theme "Shaping Future Governments," gathers global leaders to discuss innovative approaches to governance and development.

Sheikh Mohamed warmly welcomed Sharif upon his arrival, reaffirming the strong and historic ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
