National Emergency Operations Center Warns of Flash Floods in DG Khan Division

By CT

ISLAMABADA: The National Emergency Operations Center has issued a forecast predicting more monsoon rains from August 16 to 18, with occasional gaps. The DG Khan Division is particularly at risk, with the possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall that could lead to medium to high levels of flash flooding in hill torrents and local nullahs. This could result in significant damage to infrastructure.

Residents of villages, towns, or settlements near nullahs, especially those located along flood plains, are urged to stay alert as increased water flows could pose a threat to their safety. The public is advised to remain informed by regularly checking weather updates and alerts.

To aid in this, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has launched the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert application, available on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store. This app provides timely alerts, advisories, and guidelines to help the public stay safe.

The NDMA has also instructed all relevant departments to take the necessary precautions to mitigate the potential impacts of flooding and extreme weather. Residents are encouraged to follow guidance from local authorities and remain vigilant during this period.
