PIA’s First Commercial Flight Lands at New Gwadar International Airport

GWADAR: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) marked a historic milestone as its flight PK-503 became the first commercial aircraft to land at the newly inaugurated Gwadar International Airport. The flight departed from Karachi at 9:50 AM and arrived at 11:15 AM, carrying 46 passengers.

Defence and Aviation Minister Khawaja Asif, alongside Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, welcomed the passengers and highlighted the airport’s significance in boosting economic growth, trade, and tourism. 

The new airport, spanning 4,300 acres, features a 3.6 km-long runway capable of handling large aircraft like Boeing 747 and Airbus A380. It is equipped with modern air traffic control systems and security features, positioning it as a key hub for international connectivity.
